Re: Debian 8 Jessie and systemd

I would hate to see you leave Point, Maroman, the forum needs someone like you.. thanks Jim. You are too kind. and don't worry. I have 5 comps all together with up to 4 systems on each - point/xp/semplice/salix. recently I tested debian 8 mate ( :bad: ) and once more found point one of the best and...

Re: Use Jessie repo

I'm afraid it doesn't work. take into account the system management is completely different. I tried myself with pure Debian and finally failed. but of course, you can try ;)

Re: Firefox ESR

thanks Peter for the firefox upgrade :good: .

but I'm wondering why not install firefox esr version instead the newest one. the version changes are twice less frequent. the functionality is almost the same (there is halo communicator but I've never used it).

Re: Point Linux3.0 RC or Final?

hi Jim. interesting question. if I know Peter is going to answer a little later (he has no holidays as I have for example).

I must say I'm a bit afraid of new Debian. I hope Wheezy and Point 2 will also be supported a little longer. I do not know if the systemd solution is right one.

Re: HOW TO..

pabloro65 wrote:enter an NTFS partition without passwd

to get this effect partition should be automounted via fstab. the subject was presented here some time ago.
if you need more info please ask more precisely in appropriate forum section.

I mean inxi. however the version is quite old 1.8.4 but easily upgradable to the newest one. just write in your terminal sudo inxi -U and there are the following messages Starting inxi self updater. Currently running inxi version number: 1.8.4 Current ...

think it's subjective. I've been using for years and can't see any difference.
you can manually install firefox (download, unpack, make symlink etc) as I wrote before
