Re: mate upgrade

Of course Peter has said a few times that MATE 1.6 isn't stable with Compiz and I REALLY Love my Compiz so I'm going to stick with the older version for now.

Re: new grub upgrade when doing sudo apt-get upgrade (Solved

In fact my last install and update of PL when it ask I didn't check any box for where to put Grub then it moved to the next GUI where it ask if I was sure I didn't want to install it any place and I tabbed over to "Yes" and went on about my business of updating, LOL. Not sure why it's even...

Re: Firefox vs Chrome, any decission yet?

I used Iceweasel on my Debian 7.2 install and I really didn't care for it all that much. I couldn't run my Self Destructing Cookies on it like I can Firefox. I say stick with Firefox and if someone wants to run something different it's just a "sudo apt-get install" away for them to get the...

Re: Setting up a Network Share between my laptops?

Ok, I've managed to muddle through and get things set up so I can see files in my home folder between 1,2 and 3 and I can transfer files between laptops. I just need to figure out how I can create a folder from one laptop to another. Say I'm on #1 and want to create a folder on #3, I get an error me...

Setting up a Network Share between my laptops?

I'm trying to set up Network Sharing between my three laptops so I won't have to keep moving files between them via USB all the time. I'd installed Samba on all three. Enabled "Sharing" and have stuff set up as well as I can figure out but I'm running into a little snag. It seems that betw...

Re: Firefox vs Chrome, any decission yet?

That sounds great, I'm sure all of us Firefox users will be happy with the choice. Thanks. :)

Re: failed repository

Even with PL2.x being Stable I still get updates every day or every other day so it's not like Debian is just sitting on it's hands letting the Distro get old or anything. Still it'd be nice to go "middle of the road" with Jessie since Sid may be too experimental and unstable for many user...

Firefox vs Chrome, any decission yet?

Just wonder if you've made a choice between Firefox or Chrome yet Peter? I gave Chrome a try( since I now have a Google Plus account) and didn't really care for it much at all. Still, if you do go with Chrome as the default browser I'm sure it'd be easy enough for those of us who like Firefox to &qu...

Re: Point Linux logo update

Of the three I like the middle one. Having blue on each end looks nice.

Re: failed repository

Not to get off track here and I didn't want to start an entire thread about it either but is there a way we could add the "jessie" repos to our build so we could have slightly more "cutting edge" stuff when we update? I fully understand that PL is based on Debian Stable "whe...
