Changes in repository structure

Postby Pry » 29 May 2013, 11:43

Dear Point Linux 13.02 and 13.04 users!
Point Linux repository location and structure have been changed. It gave us ability to prepare for the future releases and move to the CDN package delivery in the future. Previous repo is now obsolete and contains only the packages required for the proper localization during installation. The repository will be changed automatically with the new package upgrade. Please follow these instructions to switch to the new repo now:

Automatic upgrade:
To force the upgrade open Terminal and execute the following commands there:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get update

Selective package upgrade:
You can only install the packages required to switch to the new repo. Open Terminal and execute the following commands there:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pointlinux-base-files pointlinux-repos
sudo apt-get update

Want to mirror the Point Linux repo? Please drop us a line.
Peter Ryzhenkov, Point Linux Lead Developer.
