mmmm .. I hope it is not what it looks to be ...
New BETA with Gnome? I think we not need Gnome at all. Or it must be the old Gnome 2.x ;)

I like Point Linux because it uses MATE.

Hello, richdb!
This is exactly what is seems to be. This is a GNOME 3 Classic (I repeat, Classic) spin. But fear not, MATE is not going away, Point Linux 3 will have 2 DEs. :)

Here's a screenie. Note the pretty moderate (for Gnome 3) memory load. :)

Ok ... suprising ... as long it not drop down the quality of the MATE edition.
Why a Gnome 3 classic spin? Did Point Linux users ask for that?

But ... I am sure you know what you are doing :)

Well, while GNOME 3.14 with the Classic extensions is not exactly what I would like to see, I see its rise and a great improvement over the last few years. So there's a possibility it could win back our hearts. On the other hand, GNOME is a solid project that has no 'childhood deceases' (except the UI), so I think GNOME 3 is a competitor. Just like the original MATE spin, GNOME spin will be focused on productivity, despite its target audience will differ I guess. MATE is still the main DE for Point Linux.

I am still not a big Gnome 3 supporter, in my eyes it still really s*cks. Tried the last Fedora (21) this week, but I do not understand why people like it at all, for me really not a good environment to work in. We will see, but I also see that MATE is getting more and more populair, becasue the work environment is still the best there is (for me :) ).
But thank you for the explanation.

Other question, do you need more help or manpower? I see that the Point Linux G+ is not very active, maybe I can do some work for that?
