just added the official repo to my sourcelist

if you do not mind I have another challenge for you. what about adding linuxmint repo to your source list? namely

in this repository you have both mate and cinnamon (also firefox). mate would be upgreded to 1.61 (I suppose) and moreover cinnamon 1.8? might be installed

simply wash & go . and if you follow the problem please publish screenshots of your desktops

i pass for this one, have been working with cinnamon before and i am moved over to the mate-side , maybe someone else?

You guys have some great desktops. I tend to keep mine very old school and traditional. Also I hate Docks, so none on my desktop.

Maroman. No I don't use all the players at once. Clementine is my favorite. The windows one was just an experiment while I set up Wine and I never got around to uninstalling it.

I do a lot with music, so I use MP3 Gain, Ogg Convert, Easy Tag and Audacity a lot. I also usually keep more than one cd ripper. I usually have more than one burner too. Depending on my project I just like some programs better than others. Blues music is my favorite. I have about 100 gigs of music and about 13 gigs of blues music.

Iamwithin - I know I am a bit late on this, but try installing Pinta. It is in the Point repositories and is a graphics program. Under file is take screenshot. You can set the seconds, as you will have to minimize Pinta for your desktop. When you do your save as it asks you to set the quality. You can reduce the quality, reducing the size of the file without reducing the size of the picture. If you then want to reduce the size of the picture there is a resize under images. I find this program works good, as gimp is just to complicated and more than I need for my graphics manipulations. It makes it pretty easy.

And here I come, even later, to add another resizing program to the mix. My favorite has been caja-image-converter in the repositories, a very slick and simple photo resizing program. After installing, just right click on an image and the resizing option appears. You can select a size, or scale it, or create a custom size. Try it!!
