Install from a Multisystem stick?

Install from a Multisystem stick?

Postby libtim » 09 Oct 2013, 13:07

Hi.
I have Point Linux on a Multisystem stick and it is fast on my old netbook an acer aspire 1
I can't install it from the Multisystem stick though as the installer can't find squashfls file

Critical error! Source squashfs file does not exist

I suspect it's because the file is not where the installer expects it. With Puppy you can find squashfls yourself and then the installer finds everything else it needs.
Any easy way to do that with Point or is it best I install it from a disc or different usb set up?
Thanks
Tim

if all methods fail, try wiki http://wiki.pointlinux.org/index.php?title=How_to_burn_image_on_a_CD/DVD_or_USB

from win you can also use rufus.

I guess so. Squash in Point Linux lies in /lib/live/mount/medium/live/filesystem.squashfs

Thanks for answers, One question before I do it a proper way:

Multisystem http://sourceforge.net/projects/multisystem/ puts the squashfs in

/lib/live/mount/medium/pointlinux1/live/filesystem.squashfs

instead of /lib/live/mount/medium/live/filesystem.squashfs

Is there a text file in the installer I could edit to point here? would I have to edit it for other files too? I think I could work through a file pasting "pointlinux1" in where I needed to.

Got used to using one big usb stick with lots of distros on.
