LVM / LUKS?

LVM / LUKS?

Postby Wi11 » 27 Oct 2013, 09:21

Hi,

Like many other people I am very impressed with this distro. #! is great and lightweight, but not for everyone.

Q: Full disk encryption is a must for me, but I can not see an option for it in the Point Linux installer?
I know it's in Crunchbang and working very well.
Manually messing around with LVM / LUKS is not an option for any newbie. ;)

Hello,

It's 'working very well' in Crunchbang because Crunchbang uses the native Debian installer, that is great for netinst and non-live images but too bulky and unflexible for the live images. Point Linux uses Point Linux installer that is Mint Installer's fork. It was pretty seriously modified but the LUKS/LVM features are not here as they require lots of testing. I prefectly understand how vital the LUKS/LVM support is but it can't be done by a single person. Join the team if you are a Python programmer and you can help implementing it.
