I don't have administative privileges

Postby puhuux » 25 Dec 2014, 00:42

Hi,
I can't open files as administrator, no option in right-click and it seems there's not installed gedit, if to try to do it in terminal, it gives errors. Is it meant to use admin privileges in this OS at all, and if yes - how they work?

firstly, it's mate DE. you have pluma, not gedit installed. what do you mean by opening file? if you want to edit text file as a root you can always open pluma in terminal with gksu, namely
Code: Select all
gksu pluma

that's all but not the only solution.

cheers,
