pepperflash plugin

pepperflash plugin

Postby Maroman » 28 Aug 2014, 16:48

at the moment there is no flashplayer plugin for chromium. adobe doesn't support Linux. instead there is google custom brewed flashplayer plugin for chrome called pepperflash (identified as Adobe Flash Player - Version: Shockwave Flash 14.0 r0). it can be installed only from wheezy-backports repository. but install procedure is a bit strange. whole chrome is downloaded (huge) and flashplugin (small) is taken out of it.

my suggestion is to add script for installing plugin for chromium in the same way as for firefox from pointlinux repository. there is no need to add backports for standard Point installation.

and I have a question if someone can enlighten me. is any difference between google chrome vs chromium plus flashplayer plugin? of course if there is no difference it's easier and better to install chrome instead chromium.. updated. I think I've found the answer here.
