Firefox Updated to the Latest :)

well, I do not know if it's important to have the newest version (but it would be nice). due to security reasons, yes. I thing the number of editions to esr version is less than to standard one, so maybe Point should switch to the first one (updates are less frequent). in all my distros I'm using firefox/iceweasel in esr versions. is there any functional difference between esr and standard? is something special in the latest ff to use it instead esr? not for me.

to get the newest one either download and install mozilla's compiled version or uninstall ff and install iceweasel. since there is esr edition in (old)stable repo, to have the last version follow instructions on http://mozilla.debian.net/. I personally have moved to iceweasel (still Point 2.3.2)

Hi Maroman,

Yes, I know that, but I've chosen a distro, not "Linux From Scratch".

And the home page of PL says :
Latest Firefox and Thunderbird.
Point Linux has latest versions of Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird applications in its repository, so all you have to do to get them is upgrade your system.

wishful thinking vs reality. Point is one-man-show. Peter is busy. since he has not raised associates, distro isn't up-to-date.

the problem solved. the latest firefox can be installed directly from mozilla.debian.net repository. look here http://mozilla.debian.net/
