caja, adding functionality

caja, adding functionality

Postby Maroman » 10 Nov 2014, 08:30

using right click in caja it's possible to copy/move any file to defined directory - either desktop or home. other pain doesn't work. the question is how to define different directories? I'm sure I saw somewhere (in caja or nautilus) more directories and mounted usb drives predefined. I'm not able to find  any documentation (on caja settings, scripts and so on). who knows something?? is there any hint?

Hello, Marek!

Which MATE version are you talking about?
Not sure I understand what do mean? What is a 'defined directory'? You mean shortcuts? Did you try 'Places > Connect to Server'? You can make a shortcut there.

Okay, got it.

Code: Select all
sudo pluma /usr/share/caja/ui/caja-directory-view-ui.xml

Navigate to CopyToMenu or MoveToMenu. It looks like these items are here. Not sure how to add a custom path though.

Related to Gnome, but works for MATE if you replace nautilus with caja ;)
