hey dek,

how can I join? I use Pidgin and enter the data into the form. But I always get the error message "Unable to connect".

Joining an existing group chat

1. If your Buddy List isn't visible, right-click on the Pidgin status icon in your toolbar and check Show Buddy List.

2. Under the Buddies menu, select Join a Chat.

3. In the Join a Chat window, enter the following information:
Account: If you have more than one Instant Messaging service (for example, AIM, MSN, etc), make sure that your (XMPP) account is selected.
Room: pointlinux
Server: conference.jabber.org
Handle: Your nickname
(Optional) Password:If the room creator specified a password when the room was made, you'll need to enter the password in order to join the room.

4. Click Join.

Hello people. I still get no connection. Pidgin is working properly. My entered data is correct. But still I get the message: "logged pointlinux@conference.jabber.org not connect."
IRC-Chat works great. Any suggestions?
Have a good time with Point Linux.
